No. It's kinda past it's prime. I they were only doing on or two a season maybe, but really how many times do we need to see how they set up a basic scene with mild special effects?

This seems like budget cuts more than anything and if that is the case, I guess I'd rather they cut this show than Doctor Who. ;)

I wouldn't mind a cutdown version. Maybe twenty minutes about story evolution or the idea of the episode of the week. I've noticed this year, Confidential has been struggling with trying to fill an hour. I mean, was it "Night Terrors" they used about half the ep on with Karen learning to drive and Arthur swimming with sharks? I was like, "This is cute and all, but I'd much rather hear about the story. Or what the guest stars think of working on the show. Or with the main actors. Or Moffat discussing ... ANYTHING."

What I like about watching DVDs of Old Who is, nobody on those commentaries is still associated with it, so they can say whatever they like with complete honesty. The problem with Confidential is, they can't even have a good moan on it because that often has implications for their jobs.

I'm an American so I've only ever seen the whole show once (someone put it up for downloading). We occasionally get little clips on BBC America's website and we got cut-down versions on our dvds so there's not much for me to miss. I do think it's a shame that they never tried to bring the full episodes over here - it might have been a way to find a new source of funding.

I will say I enjoy behind-the-scenes stuff but I can also see how it might be an annoying distraction for the cast and crew trying to make the episode to have the Confidential team running around trying to film their stuff at the same time.

Also as a licence payer, I will add that I would prefer BBC3 to concentrate on new programming (this is where Being Human came from, after all) rather than a show that is only of interest to Doctor Who fans.
